Sue King
Ceramist
I have my workshop at home in Penmaenmawr North Wales, where I produce individual ceramic pieces for sale and exhbition.
I learned to love and work with clay at college in Harrogate in the early 80's, since then I have travelled a road of discovery. |
 |
I wheel throw pieces and hand build, sometimes combining the two techniques in one piece. It is very important to me to maintain evidence of the hand made in my work and I am inspired by, and study the visual strength of timeless classical forms of past civilisations.

Community Arts
I run the Community Pottery Workshop in Penmaenmawr. This facility was funded by the Conwy Council Key Fund and is supported by the Arts Council of Wales.
The workshop was opended in the spring of 2004, it is well equiped and can accommodate 10 people.
I organises pottery projects throughout the year structured for adults, children and special needs groups, learners are encouraged to explore their individual creative talent, and experiment with a variety of pot making techniques and modelling using clay, glazes and various firing methods.
I am also a current member of The Potters Gallery, I High Street, Conwy.
