This Exhibition is open to all paid up members of North Wales Potters as at the start date of exhibition. The number
of pieces per potter will be c.10, to be decided when the number of participants has been finalised. Wall space is available for wall mounted work. There is insurance cover for work on show. Commission will be 30% plus VAT. The set up date for work to be put on display is Thursday 27th November. Work can be delivered to Bodelwyddan Castle on Wednesday 26th November. (The absolute last time would be first thing Thursday 27th November.)

Talk by Janet and Frank Hamer

Janet and Frank have kindly agreed to give a talk and possibly a glaze-problem workshop for NWP members. They will also talk about South Wales Potters. They will give a pottery demonstration - birds, fishes and plates - and you can bring a pot to be looked at and talked about.

£8 for NWP members
£12 for non-members


There will be food available in the college canteen at the price of £7.60
for a cooked or buffet lunch. This will need to be booked in advance by the
8th of September. Alternatively, you can bring your own food and drinks if you want to.

Hopefully, Frank and Janet will bring copies of their well-known book for sale on the day.

(David and Margaret will also be running their summer school starting on 7th July.) Bring a pot to put in the kiln, or just come for the talk and slide show. Tudor/Stuart Period Pottery
Kiln Building Workshop
19th and 20th May 2007 Grayhill Living History Site near Chepstow South Wales

A hands on workshop building a wood fired pottery kiln of the style used by Stuart and Tudor potters. Using techniques and materials used in the period you will learn how to build a kiln of this age. Construction methods and the theories behind its design and dimensions will be discussed and put into practice. The course will be lead by a team of experienced potters who have built and fired such kilns successfully using traditional techniques. There will be chance through the day to discuss other styles of historic kiln and the evidence we have for them.The workshop will take place at the beautiful Grayhill Living History site (recently featured on the T.V. programme Tales of the Greene Valley) which is dedicated to the investigation and portrayal of historical skills http://www.grayhill.org/index1.html.
The site is in an area of area of outstanding Natural Beauty, and has other reconstructed buildings and industrial archaeology projects on the site.Camping is available on site or a B+B list can be provided on request. We ask that you bring a packed lunch for each day.Cost: £50 including all materials and construction notes.We hope to run a second workshop later on in the year to fire the kiln. Pieces to be fired will be most welcome subject to them fitting into the kiln.
